Paper News: Paper Mart Inc. reaches milestone in upholding its 2012 Environmental Action Plan
Product Transport: Paper Mart operates Green Fleet of Delivery Vehicles
Paper Mart updates 12 additional trucks by means of administering a system utilizing the latest development in emission control technologies, a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system. The purpose of the SCR system is to reduce the levels of NOx (oxides of nitrogen emitted from engines) that are harmful to the environment and subsequently to our health. SCR is an after-treatment technology that treats the exhaust gas downstream of the engine. As explained by the American Trucking Association (ATA), “To reduce NOx, a small amount of Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) is injected directly into the exhaust upstream of a catalyst. The DEF vaporizes and decomposes to form ammonia (NH3), which in conjunction with the SCR catalyst reacts with NOx to convert the pollutant into nitrogen (N2) and water (H2O).”
